About Silvan
Silvan lives in Thun (Switzerland) wih his family. Silvan has a preference for adventurous climbs on unknown mountains. He feels more as an explorer than a performance climber. Discovering forgotten places and open new routes is what he likes the most. Style is important to him : trad climbing is his favorite and on several expeditions in Greenland and Patagonia, he chose to do the approach by fair means with kayak.
Originally Biotechnology Engineer, Silvan works currently for the Swiss Alpine Club and as a mountain guide.

Extra thin peck #3 : the one that goes also on very thin cracks. The new pitons are a game changer as well : theire so light, that bringing pitons on a long climb became reasonable !
Why should you use Peckers Shop products?
When you need a Pecker – you need it! There is no substitue. On mixed climbs, where one has a hammer integrated on the ice axes, there is no discussion that bringing a Pecker will make the difference in terms of protection. Even on classic summer routes, having a Pecker in the backpack, can help in precarious situations.

Why should you use Peckers Shop products?
The Pecker shop Peckers have been a Game changer in trad and mixed climbing for me. Whenever I used to think the only way to protect was by bolting, I now more often than not find a decent Hard Pecker #2 placement nearby. Thanks to their versatility, they’ve become an essential part of my emergency kit.
Whenever I carry a rope and an ice axe or hammer, I always bring at least one Hard Pecker 2 with me – "just in case." It’s reliable, compact, and provides peace of mind in situations where other options might fall short.
The weight of the V-Light is the reason I’ve started bringing angles into the mountains more regularly again. Since then, it has often proven to be an essential piece of gear for rappelling.
Its lightweight design make it a reliable choice for alpine adventures where every gram matters.

"In the last years I sensed the need of becoming more responsible to environment and the modern problems of our society. Picking up quality, surrounding friendly projects and trying to travel less are becoming my priority. Again and again it surprises me what lays in hills just around the corner, if one opens his/her eyes. Luka is based in Slovenia.

« I love the functionality of peckers in the mountains, especially Scottish mixed routes. They can usually offer protection when nothing else can be found and they are bomber when placed well. I never climb without at least two pecks on my harness when new routing in winter. »

«When trad/natural protection seems impossible, the pecker often surprises you; it's like the magic weapon of the last chance!
